Forward-deployed engineer

An engineering role that starts from a customer's problem rather than a ticket. You solve it using our product, then build whatever the product is missing. The work spans the application, the models behind it, our AI tooling and the infrastructure it runs on.
WHAT YOU’D DO
- Take customer problems from start to finish: solve them with the product, and build the features that were missing.
- Work across the stack as needed: back end, data, front end and models.
- Build AI tooling, both for internal use and for the product.
- Own the deployment and infrastructure for what you build.
- Join customer calls where your work is used, and fix what does not hold up.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong software engineering skills. You can work in whichever language the problem needs.
- You can take an unclear problem to a finished result without a detailed spec.
- You learn new domains quickly. Energy experience is not required.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience building with LLMs: agents, tool use, evaluation.
- Data science, forecasting or optimisation.
- Docker, cloud infrastructure, CI or data orchestration.
- Experience in energy or climate.
